We provide a total solution for customers’ grinders with a constitution of HMI, motion control card and PLC, among which RS485 is used to connect one to each other. Based on MODBUS-RTU protocol and HMI as the main station, the communication speed can be 57600bps. CAN bus control is used for all servo control, with no gateway through CAN bus link, and a communication baud rate of 1Mbps means a really high speed and high precision. The 16 bit analog interface is used for sampling of laser ranging senor on grinders to ensure sampling speed and precision.
The solution offers high cost performance, short network delay, programmable, expandable and monitoring features, and therefore it solves many troubles of users.
Features
Self-developed HMI fulfils transmission of all system commands, status display and monitoring, parameter change. For confidentiality, user data and information can be encrypted.
Groups of parameters can be saved in memory and retrieved upon user’s request.

I/O port expansion and logic control are accomplished by Siemens PLC S7-200, and position control by self-developed motion control card.

Motion control card is programmed via control group in HMI.

Error information output for each module and program status display in HMI help users to locate a failure.

Manual mode
Manual mode includes hand wheel and axis selection function, manual control of a certain axis are available via bus method. -
Automatic mode
It refers to working normally in automatic mode. -
Diagnosis
Status of all I/O ports are monitored and defined with compulsion, analog input data can be monitored, calibrated or defined with compulsion. Besides, CAN communication link of each channel can be diagnosed. -
Alarm
Alarm information is displayed under different conditions, several groups of alarm information are recorded and easy to check by users. -

System structure
The embedded motion control card takes advantage of main trend structure consisting of DSP plus FPGA. DSP fulfils functions like computing, two way encoder decoding, decoding laser ranging sensor, RS232 communication, RS485 communication, CAN communication, and analog output. FPGA fulfils two way encoder decoding and pulse output.
